I am 40 and I am only just getting back into the dating scene after a 5 year relationship with my partner ended badly. I have tried approaching men my age but they just don’t seem interested. Have you got any tips for an older woman trying to find that special someone?
Finding love at 40 may seem a daunting prospect, especially after a bad relationship, but it is an achievable goal. What you might not have realised is that the rules have changed a little since the last time you were on the dating scene. While in your 20s and early 30s you might have met men on a night out - always a random, risky method - now it's time to make your approach a little more formal and scientific.
The stigma around joining dating agencies or meeting a partner through internet dating sites (like Sky's) has largely vanished. Rather than leaving things to fate, you can specify what type of guy/ relationship you're looking for and go on as many dates as you like. There are plenty of men out there who are also looking for love. Some of them will be your age, others older or even younger. It's a good idea not to be too rigid in your requirements as you may be surprised. Keep an open mind, be sensible and safe, be honest with anyone you meet and keep your expectations realistic. If you have one bad date, don't write everyone off. Yes, your ultimate goal is finding that special someone, but it might not happen immediately. In the meantime, have fun meeting lots of new people.

Tuesday 07 October, 10:34i joined sky dating and so had my p, he was just to give up on sky dating when i emailed him , he responded back and we got to meet, then we had weekends togeather, then he asked me to move in with him and i said yes. I got to know all his family and i liked them as much as they liked me then one sunday afternoon he asked me to marry him and i said yes now we are engaged to be married in may next yr and if anyone asks or says they are lonely i always say go to sky dating my nic is destiny_a_360 i think its been along time since i went to the site as i have the man i love here, and his name is there to but he doesnt use the site anymore as we found love through sky dating so ty for having a dating service you put 2 lonely ppl togeather and made them happy.
