Commitment issues?  Pressure of work?  Or simply that he hasn’t met the right woman?  Maybe he’s too choosy.  Michelle Pfeiffer was quoted in a recent interview as saying she thought George would marry the girl he was seeing while filming a movie about 12 years ago…But he didn’t.  It’s an enigma.  There must be thousands of us out there who think we could solve the mystery and be the future Mrs Clooney!

What about Robbie Williams?  Again, he’s talented, good looking, rich, lives the high life – maybe too high for us girls?  Drugs and rehab aren’t exactly top of the list of priorities when you’re looking for a bloke.  But then that hasn’t stopped the likes of Pete Doherty getting a girl; one of the world’s greatest stunners at that.  So why is our Rob still on his tod?  Where is he going wrong?  If only we could work it out.

And then there’s America’s sweetheart Cameron Diaz.  Beautiful, funny, great career and has dated some of the hottest guys out there, yet still she’s a bachelorette.  Is it a chronic case of bad relationships choices?  She looks like tons of fun to be with, and yet marriage still eludes her. Maybe she and George ought to get together?! 

So what can we learn from these celebrity mistakes?  Of course; those of us who live in the real world have the luxury of not having our personal lives spread across the pages of tabloids and glossy magazines. We can keep a low profile and not worry that any mistakes we might make, romantic or otherwise, will soon be public knowledge.  As a result, we are free to try a bit of everything, not be too choosy, not worry about making bad decisions.  We can learn from our mistakes as well as those of others, and make better choices next time. 

In George Clooney and Cameron Diaz’s favour, relationships and weddings are generally taking place later and later on in people’s lives.  The pressure is off to tie the knot and have 2.4 children by the time we’re 25.  Julia Robert famously had twins at 40, and we hear similar stories more and more frequently.

Most importantly we should learn that we are free to be ourselves and as such we should express ourselves truly and honestly. Prince (or Princess) Charming may not appear overnight but there’s always the hectic love worlds of our Hollywood pals to keep us occupied whilst we wait for that special someone to walk into our lives.
